## What Stages Does the Recruitment Process Have in Primark?

The recruitment process in Primark consists of several stages, on each of which we are elaborating below:

### The Test

Depending on the position for which you applied, you may be asked to pass one or several tests. As a rule, these tests are administered to measure your numerical, verbal, or logical skills, all of which might prove indispensable for working in the retail industry. Our exclusive PrepPack™ contains accurate simulations of the following tests:

The Numerical Reasoning Test – This test evaluates how well you understand information presented in statistical tables, graphs, and diagrams. After having studied this information for a few moments, you will be asked to answer question related to it, which will appear on the right side of your screen. Each answer contains several options from which you can choose, only one of which is right. The Numerical Reasoning Test is strictly timed. You will have only around a minute to answer each question. No calculators are usually permitted. You will be allowed to use only a scrap of a paper and a pencil to make your calculations.

The Verbal Reasoning Test – This test measures how well you understand written information. You will be given a short passage of the text to scan quickly. On the right side of your computer screen, you will see statements made about the passage you have just read. You will need to evaluate the truth-value of these statements in relation to the information revealed in the given passage. If you think that the statement is borne out by the text, you will need to mark it as “True.” If the statement runs counter to what is written in the text, tick it off as “False.”   Bear in mind also that sometimes it will be impossible to evaluate the truth-value of the given statement, due to the insufficiency of the information presented in the passage. If you cannot determine whether the statement is true or false, choose the “Impossible to Say” option. The Verbal Reasoning Test is also timed. You will have less than a minute to answer each question.

The Logical Reasoning Test – This is a kind of psychometric testing that measures job candidates’ mental abilities, logical reasoning, and non-verbal skills. Most often than not, this test features non-verbal content; in other words, job applicants need to interpret and manipulate shapes, numbers, and patterns. The Logical Reasoning Test is a multiple-choice assessment. There are several answers to every question, only one of which is correct. You will be given less than a minute to analyze each graph or shape.

## What Questions Are Asked During the In-Person Interview?

Question posed during the face-to-face interview are of several kinds: general, competency-based, behavioral, situational, or technical, if you are applying for a position in the company’s back office involving using technology or offering technological services. During the in-person interview at Primark you may be asked the following questions:

• What are your strengths and weaknesses?
• Why do you want to work at Primark?
• What department in our store do you like more?
• Tell us about a time when you served an irritated customer. What was your approach to him or her?
• Tell us about a situation when you disagreed with your co-workers. How did you reconcile the differences between you and them?
• How does your prior experience relate to the position for which you are being interviewed?
• What is your greatest career achievement?
• How would you resolve a problem between you and your manager?
• Were you rewarded in your previous workplace for giving excellent customer service?
• Have you ever been in a stressful situation where you had to complete a job on time but failed to do so?

Read these questions attentively and formulate clear, concise answers to them. You will always sound more composed and confident during your interview, if you come to it with prepared answers to the most frequently asked questions.
