J.P. Morgan Chase Assessment Tests

When you apply for the position of an analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase, you will be asked to take several pre-employment assessments. Among the tests that the bank offers to its job applicants are the following tests: the Math/Numerical Reasoning, Excel, Logical and Verbal Reasoning, and Personality.

Math/Numerical Reasoning

A pre-employment math test, also known as a numerical reasoning test, a quantitative reasoning test, or a numerical test, is the most common type of aptitude test applicants for thr position of analyst can face during the hiring process at J.P. Morgan Chase. The test measures your ability to understand and make decisions based on numerical data.

In order to measure your ability to understand numerical data more correctly, the test asks you to perform basic calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Tasks contained on the test will require you to perform calculations not only with whole numbers but also with decimals and fractions. Note that testing time frame may vary. As speed and accuracy are highly important factors on the exam, it is recommended to calculate the seconds or minutes that are allocated for the Math/Numerical Reasoning Exam before you start it.

Excel-Kenexa Prove It 2016

As a financial analyst, you will be required to present statistics of clients' accounts and data. Therefore, J.P. Morgan Chase may invite you to pass the Excel test. On this test, you may encounter tasks evaluating your knowledge of how to format, edit or insert rows and columns, how to add and subtract values and enter data, and creating different charts and graphs. To help you improve your test scores, JobTestPrep has created for you Kenexa Excel practice materials including video tutorials, Excel assessment tests, detailed explanations, answer keys, and score reports.

Logical and Verbal Reasoning

The Logical Reasoning Test measures how job applicants interpret patterns, number sequences, or the relationships between shapes. It also evaluates how well you use structured thinking. On the test, you will be required to deduce from a short passage which of a number of statements is the most accurate response to an asked question. Thereby, your ability to isolate and identify the components of given arguments will be assessed as well.

The Verbal Reasoning Test evaluates job candidates' ability to comprehend concepts expressed through words. It is also designed to measure how well you use verbal logic and, with its help, extract the correct meaning from complex written information. On the test, you will read a couple of passages and then decide whether a statement about a text is true or false, or cannot be determined.

Personality Test

The Personality Test tries to predict whether you will be the right fit for the position and whether you will interact well with other employees at J.P. Morgan Chase. The test thus measures the compatibility between your personality "profile" and the job profile. It does what interviewers cannot do on interviews - to evaluate your covert personality traits. For whereas a job interview examines your overt behavior, the personality test reaches deeper and exposes those qualities of which you might not be aware yourself, thereby providing recruiters with a more comprehensive profile of your personality. This does not mean, however, that it is impossible to prepare for the personality test. Although you are expected to give unplanned, spontaneous answers, you still can learn how to highlight your best qualities and avoid incriminating yourself accidentally, when you answer tricky questions posed on the test. JobTestPrep's sophisticated practice materials will teach you how to present your personality in the most favorable light and how to make a lasting impression on recruiters at J.P. Morgan Chase.
