Idaho Power Interview Policy

It is very common to participate in several interviews prior to becoming an employee with Idaho Power. What Are Different Types of the Aptitude Test?

Employers think that a hiring process should include a more rigorous means of estimating job candidates’ future performance at work than simply perusing their résumé or asking them questions on the interview. Thus, the Numerical Reasoning Test measures how well applicants calculate and analyze numerical data. The Verbal Reasoning Test is an evaluation of candidates’ ability to understand and analyze written information. Diagrammatic Reasoning Test estimates how well they read information given in charts and diagrams. The SJT seeks to evaluate applicants’ reaction to different situations. Even though the Aptitude Test does not contain question of extreme difficulty, it is still advisable to prepare for it in advance. What Is the Format of the Numerical Reasoning Test?

The Numerical Tests are usually taken online. They are timed, and no time extension is given, if you do not complete them on time. Overall, you will have about 45 seconds to answer one question. They are also multiple-choice tests, asking you to choose one right answer from four or six possible solutions. On the Numerical Test, you will different types of tasks. Among other things, you will need to interpret data appearing in tables, graphs, and charts. You will also need to calculate percentages and proportions and perform operations with fractions and ratios. Because word problem exercises involve stories about people who either receive or spend money, you should know how to convert currencies and understand such concepts as “inflation” and “rebasing.”

What Are Situational Questions Asked on the Interview?

When employers ask candidates situational questions, they seek to evaluate their possible behavior in various working situations. What they want to hear from you is a story about a challenging event in your former work place with which you successfully dealt. You need to tell your interviewers why the situation was problematic and what steps you took to resolve it. Recruiters also expect from you to explain why you arrived at a certain decision, what were the alternatives, and why you rejected them as possible solutions. Try to answer situational questions according to the STAR format, dwelling first on the Situation, Test, Action, and Results. If you keep in mind the STAR method while you are answering situational questions, your answers will be fuller and more convincing.
