New Jersey Police Exams

New Jersey LEE

The New Jersey Civil Service Commission requires you to take the New Jersey Law Enforcement Exam (LEE) created by EB Jacobs, to become a police officer. The LEE was designed to identify your knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the job. The exam is made up of three sections: Ability Test, Work Styles Questionnaire, and Life Experience Survey. The exam lasts for 3 hours. It consists of multiple-choice questions and behavioral statements.

NCJOSI

Some departments do not require the LEE exam. Those departments fall under the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). The National Criminal Justice Officer Selection Inventory (NCJOSI) designed by I/O Solutions, is administered by the NJSACOP, to various New Jersey municipalities. The NCJOSI exam tests important cognitive abilities and personality attributes that are necessary for successful job performance. The exam consists of five areas: problem-solving ability, reading comprehension, mathematics, writing ability, and job-related personality characteristics. These five test areas have been grouped into two sections. The first section is the cognitive section which consists of a total of 45 questions. The second section measures various attitudes and personality characteristics consisting of a total of 42 items. The exam is for 1-½ hours. It consists of a series of multiple-choice questions and behavioral statements. You can start preparing today for the NCJOSI exam with JobTestPrep's custom-made NJ chiefs test practice.
