PowerSchool Hiring Process

The lengthy PowerSchool hiring and recruitment process consists of the following steps:

  • Online application: The PowerSchool hiring process begins with an online application that is screened by the Hirebridge applicant tracking system (ATS).  This applicant tracking system assesses your answers and documents for keyword-specific phrases. 
  • Assessment tests: Once your application is complete, you will encounter pre-employment assessment tests (outlined below). Be sure to review and prepare for these tests as passing/failing scores can be the difference in moving forward with a job offer or not.
  • Interview: You will encounter a variety of interviews during the PowerSchool recruitment process, some of which may include telephone, video, in-person or panel interviews. Be sure to review and practice for all types of interviews with our Interview PrepPack™.

PowerSchool Assessment Tests

Depending on the position for which you’re applying, you may be required to complete the following pre-employment assessment tests.

Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT)

The Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) is a popular pre-employment assessment that measures your problem-solving abilities, skill learning capabilities, and critical-thinking skills.

The CCAT consists of 50 questions, has a 15-minute time limit, and is comprised of three question categories—math and logic, verbal ability, and spatial reasoning.

Usually, CCAT scores are determined by a raw score (the number of questions answered correctly). However, your score can be converted into a percentile in order to compare your score to the scores of other applicants.

It's important to note that each job position has its own suggested range of raw scores, so try to figure out what your job position and company requires.

PowerSchool Personality Test

PowerSchool utilizes a lengthy personality test as part of their assessments. Personality tests are used to measure your personal and professional compatibility to the company and position for which you are applying. Furthermore, personality tests assess your approach to work scenarios, stress management, colleagues and teamwork, and the job position.
