MidAmerican Energy Company’s Hiring Process

There are several stages in the MidAmerican Energy hiring process. This process will often include:

  • Application Process: In order to apply for the position of your choice, you will need to go to the MidAmerican Energy jobs webpage. Once you have selected a suitable role, you will need to create a new user account on the website, complete the online application, and upload your resume.
  • Phone Interview: Once your documents and application have gone through the initial screening process, you may be invited to participate in a telephone interview with a MidAmerican Energy human resources representative.
  • Employment Exam: Regardless of the position you have applied for, you may be required to take and pass a pre-hire entrance exam.
  • Personal Interviews: Personal interviews are often the last stage prior to receiving a job offer. Personal interviews are generally held before a panel of two or more people.



MidAmerican Energy Company’s BMCT & EEI Tests

Psychometric and aptitude tests have become a mainstay for many companies during their recruitment processes. There are several tests that you may need to take during the MidAmerican Energy recruitment process. These tests will often include a Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test, as well as tests provided by EEI. The purpose of these tests is to evaluate your suitability for the role you have applied for. Below you will find more information regarding each of the assessments that you are likely to face during the hiring process:

Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test

The Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT) was designed to measure your mechanical reasoning abilities, spatial perception, mechanical aptitude, and deduction of how things work. It is very important to be familiar with the basic concepts of physics and physics terminology prior to taking this test.

EEI Assessments

There are many different EEI tests that you are likely to be administered during the MidAmerican Energy recruitment process. These tests will be used to determine your fit for the role you have applied for. EEI assessments are often administered until a time limit of no more than an hour. The EEI test or tests that you may take during this time are as follows:

CAST The CAST test will cover a variety of subjects, including mechanical concepts, mathematics, reading comprehension, and graphical arithmetic.
MASS Th MASS assessment will evaluate your ability to understand mechanical concepts, your ability to assemble different objects, mathematical usage, and reading comprehension.
POSS The POSS aptitude test will measure your reading comprehension, your understanding of mechanical principles, your ability to solve and manipulate mathematical relationships, as well as your figural reasoning ability.
TECH The TECH test will measure your graphic problem-solving skills, your ability to interpret diagrams, your understanding of mechanical concepts, and your ability to read and apply certain rules.
