On average, the MA Civil Service test takes approximately three to four hours to complete. The test questions are usually in multiple-choice format and have a time limit.
The exam content depends on the position or profession for which you are being tested: for example, the Massachusetts Firefighter Exam will specifically include questions about situational judgment, mechanical comprehension, and mathematics. Certain positions, like labor services, no longer accept mailed paper applications and must be applied to through the automated online civil service system. To find out more information about local tests like Boston Civil Service Exam, visit the municipality's website.
