CRA Accounting Level One Test

The purpose of the CRA Accounting Level One Test is to measure your knowledge and abilities in accounting principles, techniques and/or practices, including the purpose and interrelationship of financial statements general ledger, journal entries, and CICA Handbook.

The CRA Accounting Level One Test consists of 32 questions with a time limit of 40 minutes.

Canada Revenue Agency Hiring Process

Canada Revenue Agency's hiring process consists a few stages. After creating your candidate profile you will be required to complete and pass a skills test to be considered for an interview. Recruiters will send invitations by email to candidates selected to test.

Using the information on the email invitation, register for and take the test. If you successfully pass all required skills tests, a recruiter will evaluate your submission for further advancement.

CRA Interview Process

If you manage to successfully pass the online tests, you will be invited to a CRA interview. The interview that is conducted is either face-to-face, panel or by telephone depending on the job for which you have applied. It usually lasts about 45 minutes. Interviews can be the most nerve-wracking part of the process, but preparation is key to helping you stay calm and focused. What is a passing mark?

You must score 16 or greater to attain level 1 proficiency.

Is the test timed?

Yes, the test is 40 minutes long.

How long do I need to wait to retake the test?

You must wait until after the retest period of 180 days has elapsed before you can take the test again. If you choose to rewrite the test, the score you obtain will then become your most recent and valid score. Should you rewrite the test before the retest period has elapsed, your result will not be valid and a new retest period will be imposed from the new test date.
