Ability To–Benefit Program and Test

The Ability–to–Benefit program is for prospective students who do not possess a high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent, and wish to apply to post-secondary institutions.. To be admitted to the Ability–to–Benefit program, students must pass an entrance exam—the Wonderlic Ability–to–Benefit Basic Skills Test.

The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test measures a student’s basic verbal and math skills. The test consists of two 20-minute tests. The math portion consists of 45 questions and the verbal portion consists of 50 questions. This test must be proctored and comes in both English and Spanish. Additionally, this test is approved by the U.S. Department of Education for all ATB Title IV programs.

Wonderlic Ability–To–Benefit (ATB) Test Scores

 To receive a passing grade on the Wonderlic Ability–to-Benefit Basic Skills Test you must receive the following scores:

  • Verbal section – 200
  • Quantitative section – 210

It’s important to note that these are the minimum passing scores for Wonderlic’s standards. Your prospective school or program may have its own standards, so be sure to consider that as well.
