The ICC Plumbing Certification exam is a professional certification administered by the International Code Council (ICC) for plumbing inspectors and plans examiners. At minimum, complete both full simulations for your track after finishing the topic drills - sitting a simulation cold before topic work gives you a score with no actionable direction. Only prepare for multiple tracks simultaneously if you plan to sit all three exams - P1, P2, and P3 each have a distinct question style and code focus, and spreading your preparation across all three without a clear schedule dilutes your focus.
As for timing: candidates with active inspection experience and recent code familiarity typically need 2 to 4 weeks. Candidates returning to the IPC or IRC after time away from code work should allow 4 to 6 weeks. The diagnostic test at the start of each track gives you a realistic baseline on day one so you can calibrate your timeline to your actual gap rather than guessing.
