What is The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam

The Wonderlic SLE Test is a cognitive assessment that includes 50 abstract, verbal, numerical and general knowledge questions that need to be answered in 12 minutes. Although some questions seem straightforward, with only 14 seconds on average to answer each question the test is very challenging.

Since the Wonderlic SLE aims to examine a range of capabilities, it includes a number of question types:

40% English (Verbal Reasoning) - including grammar, analogies, vocabulary, synonym / antonym, and deductive reasoning.
40% Math (Numerical Reasoning) - number series, word problems, number patterns and more.
10% Logic (Abstract Reasoning) - 3D shapes, and pattern recognition, shape series and matrices.
10% General Knowledge and Other - general knowledge questions, as well as error identification questions and other clerical type questions.


There are two main versions of the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam:

The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam (SLE) - includes 50 questions with a 12 minute time limit (14 seconds per question)

The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam Quicktest (SLE-Q) - includes 30 questions with an 8 minute time limit (16 seconds per question)

The Wonderlic SLE exam is hard with only 5% of assessment test takers managing to finish every question. Wonderlic questions aren't hard to solve if you have an hour to spare, but answering 50 questions in 12 minutes can put your cognitive ability to the test.

For example, the University of North Dakota charges $25 for each test you take.

 

What Is the SLE-Q Wonderlic Test?

It’s the short 8-minute version of the Wonderlic scholastic level exam; the SLE-Q test consists of 30 questions that must be answered in 8 minutes or 16 seconds per question. It is usually done online without supervision. The only difference between the long and short versions of the test is time the questions are similar so preparation should be the same.

 

What Is the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam for Nursing?

The Wonderlic scholastic level exam for nursing, also known as the Wonderlic nursing assessment test, assesses a candidate's ability to cope with the challenges facing nursing students.

A student must score a minimum amount to be accepted into the institution he is applying to.

Most programs require at least a 16, although some schools set the minimal score as high as 30.
