What to Expect on Geico’s Interview

What is peculiar about Geico’s pre-employment assessment is that one of its interviews is a panel interview. Yet before you are invited for it, you have to pass several preliminary stages. First, after you submit your résumé and cover letter, you will have a phone conversation with a Human Resources manager. During this conversation, you will talk about your education, working experience, and Geico’s business goals. After the phone interview, you will write assessment (tests) required as a part of Geico’s hiring process. Provided you excel on these tests, you will move to the next stage, which is a face-to-face interview. Geico’s in-person interview takes the form of a panel. A panel interview includes conversations with several managers simultaneously. As a rule, there will be a Human Resources manager, managers of several departments, and team leaders to interview you. They will take turns to ask you competency-based and situational questions. They will also talk about your working experience and your career objectives. Participating in the panel interview might be stressful because you will be questioned by six or even seven people, which may feel overwhelming. Your interview will be an easier and more pleasant experience if you come to it armed with winning answers to most frequently asked questions. Check out JobT

How Is Geico Situational Judgement Test Structured?

The Geico’s SJT test may come in several formats and it is important for you to be aware of the various possibilities. Some tests are linear based, while others are interactive in nature. So, what’s the difference? The linear format presents a number of questions to each applicant and in the same order, while interactive uses branching, meaning each answer will dictate the next series of questions. Questions and answers will vary from a specific work scenario with one unique solution to possibly multiple issues requiring multiple solutions. While there is no per say right or wrong answer. While there is no right or wrong answer, per say, scores are based on the best and worst alternatives as the tester sees it.

Will I Be Able to Use a Calculator in the Geico Mathematical Test?

Some tests allow the use of a calculator but they do not provide one for you so you will have to bring your own. However, most math tests do not allow a calculator but will supply scratch paper, so you may want to practice doing the math section without a calculator.

How to Fast Track the Geico Hiring Process

Hew are a few tips that might expedite the process or at least help you manage the dreaded wait time.

  • First, learn as much as you can about the company. Beyond reading the website, find reviews and articles about the company’s products. Track the company on social media and find out what makes them tick. Additionally, consider posing as a potential client by using customer service to ask questions to more thoroughly understand the product.
  • Second, finds ways to move spur the process along. Find an internal reference within the company that can pass your resume along to a hiring manager. At times this can cut out the initial screening by HR. Also after every stage, make sure to send a polite thank you note just to remind them that you exist, just don’t make it sound desperate.
  • Lastly, everyone wants what they cannot have. If things are taking too long, let them know you have another offer on the table. Hey, It can’t hurt.
