Vertafore Hiring Process

After you submit your application, résumé, and cover letter to Vertafore online, you will take their CCAT and personality tests. The Vertafore hiring process is possible to pass once you have a grasp over its process and types of questions which will be asked. While the exact nature of the hiring process may vary depending on the position you are vying for, the cognitive & personality assessment run across multiple positions.

Most Vertafore Hiring Processes have four steps:

  • Step 1: Fill out the online application form.
  • Step 2: A company representative will contact you and ask you to take a cognitive & personality assessment exam.
  • Step 3: Upon passing the test you will be invited for a phone call with an HR representative. You will be asked and can ask basic questions about the position and your past.
  • Step 4: The last stage in the interview is an in-person interview in the company office. Depending on the position you are vying for this could include several interviews.

What Is the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT)?

The Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) measures cognitive aptitude and various critical factors that contribute to performance at work. These factors include such abilities as critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to details, learning and applying new information, among others. To evaluate applicants’ cognitive aptitude more accurately, the CCAT is broken into three parts: 

  • Math and logic
  • Verbal skills
  • Spatial reasoning

The major difficulty of the test is its short time limit; you are required to answer 50 questions within 15 minutes. On average, you have 30 seconds for each question. To track your progress on each section of the test, and thus better understand which of your cognitive abilities is stronger, you will also be given a mark for each individual part of the test. Having a breakdown of your CCAT’s score is helpful when you practice with JobTestPrep’s materials. If you know the section you received the lowest mark on, you can devote more practice and attention to it, and eliminate your weaknesses. 


Vertafore Personality Assessment

Together with the CCAT, you may need to take a personality test, which estimates your general aptitude for the position.   • Technical Position: If the position is technical in nature you will be asked “whiteboard” questions. For instance, the interviewer might show you a code and ask you to find an issue or ask you how you would test a particular software or system.
  • Non-Technical Position: These questions are rather straightforward, but you will have to come prepared. You might be asked for instance why you chose Vertafore or why you left your last position.
