Founded in 1955, The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson is the state’s only academic medical center. They run five health science schools which include nursing, medicine, health professions, dentistry and graduate studies. UMMC is also where the University of Mississippi pharmacy students perform their clinical training. Their health-care enterprise also includes five hospitals. Application: To begin the application process, applicants can register online by searching for available jobs, choosing a position to apply for, uploading their resume, and providing their education and work background.
Telephone Interview: The first interview process involves a phone call from an HR recruiter. These short screening conversations allow companies to assess candidates’ skills and character traits.
In-Person Interview: In-person UMMC interviews are often conducted by a manager and/or other employers. UMMC interviews include the UMMC assessment centre day, evaluating candidates’ personality, skills, and teamwork abilities.
Tests: Taking psychometric exams includes pre-employment aptitude tests which may be a part of the recruitment process. UMMC assessment tests help companies evaluate one’s cognitive abilities fully.
Candidates may be asked to take UMMC assessment and aptitude tests to determine how well they can conduct mathematical, verbal, and logical reasoning exams. The verbal reasoning tests assess applicants’ written comprehension. The mathematical tests measure basic numerical and statistical understanding. The logical reasoning tests evaluate candidates’ decision-making capabilities. The customer service test focuses on one’s strong people skills and communication style.
The situational judgement (SJT) and personality assessments are used to gauge one’s behavioral tendencies and traits in workplace scenarios. These tests measure how one responds in many situations. Companies use the scores given to measure how well-suited one is for the job position.
