What to Expect During the Textron Hiring Process

Whether you have applied for a coveted position in the Textron internship program, Leadership development program, or for one of their entry level or experienced professional job openings, you will be required to participate in several interviews and assessments. The general Textron recruiting measures are as follows:

  • Submit Application: You will need to do this on the Textron website. Make sure that your resume is up to date before sending.
  • Screening Interview: The screening interview will most likely be held over the phone. This type of interview will last up to 30 minutes and is usually conducted by a member of the Textron HR department. Be prepared to answer questions regarding your availability, prior work experience, and various behavioral questions.
  • Aptitude Assessments: More often than not, the Textron recruitment process will include taking some sort of aptitude assessment in order to progress through to the final interview stage. These tests are used to measure your skills in areas pertaining to the position you have applied for, as well as your compatibility with Textron’s culture and standards.
  • Face-To-Face Interview: This is often the final step before being accepted into the Textron internship program or into one of their other programs/ positions. You will often be asked questions based on your resume, as well as different behavioral and competency-style questions. The goal of the face-to-face interview is to further confirm whether you are the right fit not only for the company culture, but also the program or position you have applied to.

Textron Interview Questions

If you have successfully passed the initial phone interview and subsequent assessments, Textron will invite you either by email or phone to a face-to-face interview. During the face-to-face interview you will be asked several questions based on what is written on your resume, as well as behavioral, competency and skill-based questions. The most effective way to present your answers is by using the STAR Method.

Below are just a few examples of the Textron interview questions you are likely to be asked:

  • Why do you want to work at Textron?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Describe a time you had to take on a leadership role.
  • Describe a situation in which you experienced conflict in a work environment. How did you resolve this?
