Revelian

Revelian is an Australian psychometric assessment company that is well-known worldwide. They provide an extensive amount of aptitude tests which help companies assess candidates in an efficient manner.

About the Revelian Reasoning Tests

The Revelian reasoning tests give employers the ability to assess candidates in an efficient and interactive way. These assessments exams score your cognitive aptitude as well as your personality traits. The main goal of the reasoning tests is to provide companies with insight into your behavioral habits and capabilities at work. In order to do so, your abstract, numerical and verbal test scores are added together to display your overall capabilities.

The Revelian reasoning tests are described below:

Revelian Numerical Reasoning Test

The numerical reasoning test is made up of 25 questions that you will be required to answer within a 12-minute time limit. The questions include several word problems, as well as a number series. The aim of this section is to assess your ability to understand, grasp, and solve numerical concepts in a logical manner.

Sample numerical reasoning test question:

What is the missing number that should take the place of the question mark?

6  ?  20  33  50  71  96

Answer:

20 + 13 = 33. 33 + 17 = 50. 50 + 21 = 71. The amount being added increases by 4 (13, 17, 21) each time. If 13 has been added to 20 to get 33, then 13 – 4 = 9 has been added to ? to get 20. Thus, ? + 9 = 20 à ? = 11. You can check to see if this pattern is correct, because if 9 was added to get 20, then 9 – 4 = 5 should be added to 6. 6 + 5 = 11 so the pattern is confirmed.

Therefore, the correct answer is 11.

Revelian Verbal Reasoning Test

The verbal reasoning test includes 35 questions which you will need to complete in the span of 10-minutes. The questions consist of written information which is used to evaluate how well you comprehend, understand, and analyze verbal data and written information in a thorough way.

Sample verbal reasoning test question:

Four of the following are alike in some way. Please choose the other TWO:
1) Basketball
2) Ice Hockey
3) Baseball
4) Football (Soccer)
5) Rugby
6) Tennis

Answer:
The correct answers are (2) and (5).

Two methods can be used for answering this question. Firstly, that Ice Hockey (2) and Rugby (5) are both contact sports, and secondly, that both sports also do not use a conventional spherical ball (Ice Hockey is played with a puck, and Rugby with a prolate spheroid ball, not a perfect sphere), whereas Basketball (1), Baseball (3), Football (4), and Tennis (6) are all played with a round spherical ball.

Revelian Abstract Reasoning Test

The abstract reasoning test consists of 32 questions which you will be required to complete within a time period of 10-minutes. The questions provided consist of abstract data that is used to assess how well you can comprehend and resolve the given problems in a logical and clear way.

Sample abstract reasoning test question:

Which two of the items below do not belong with the others?

Answer:

The correct answer is (1) and (4).

The “trick” to this question is the order of the petals. Flowers (1) and (4) have a different order to their petals, while all the petals of the other flowers are arranged in the same order, even though they are rotated. A good way to approach this question is to pick a pair of petals that are next to each other, for example, the white one and dotted one in flower (1), and look for the pair in all other flowers. Since this pair does not repeat itself in any of the other flowers, it signals that this is one of the odd flowers. Repeat this process to answer the question.
