Post-Secondary Recruitment Testing
The Post-Secondary Recruitment (PSR) program is designed to support Canadian federal government organizations in their hiring process by providing access to qualified university and college graduates and helping meet specific recruitment needs at any time throughout the year. The PSR program uses two testing methods.
Online testing - Public Service Entrance Exam (PSEE UIT 370)
The PSEE online testing is unsupervised. The test can be written in an any environment where you have access to a computer and an Internet connection. The unsupervised PSEE is comprised of two sub-tests:
- Test of Reasoning: This tests consists of 26 multiple choice questions, but only 25 will count. You will encounter four types of questions: Arithmetic reasoning, logical reasoning, analytical reasoning and number or letter series. This sub-test has a time limit of 90 minutes.
- Test of Judgement: This sub-test was designed to assess the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations and consists of 52 multiple choice questions. All questions count towards the final score. You will have 75 minutes to complete this sub-test.
Supervised testing - Public Service Entrance Exam (PSEE UIT 371)
If you passed the unsupervised PSEE (PSEE UIT 370) will be required to write the supervised PSEE (PSEE 371). The supervised PSEE consists of two separately timed sub-tests:
- Test of Reasoning: This test is designed to assess reasoning and problem-solving abilities and consists of 30 multiple choice questions.
- Test of Judgement: This test is designed to assess the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations and consists of 40 multiple choice questions.
