Hint: The STAR system will come in handy here.
  • Are you one to take criticism well? Always give an example and explain how you came to the conclusion if the criticism is valid, constructive or not? Explain how you can tell if the criticism is coming from a place of ego, to improve your general performance or perhaps inform you of a serious misstep. Also, you might want to explain that you will react differently depending on the source of the criticism, be it boss, colleague or customer.

  • What are the most critical hard/soft skills needed? In asking this question you will succeed in gleaning more information about your day to day tasks and it will give you the ability to ask follow up questions. Moreover, if you deficient in a particular ear, you will be able to tackle it right away before you start in the position or if you are totally out of your depth.
  • How is the communication between workers and management? You want to make sure that you are entering a cohesive and functional workplace. If the interviewer cannot explain how the hierarchy works, who is responsible for what and how you fall into the picture. Well, you have a problem. See it as a little test for the company.
