The J.M. Smucker Company’s Hiring Process

The Smucker’s company was founded in 1897 and currently employs more than 7,500 worldwide. Their recruitment process can be somewhat extensive. Below you will find more information regarding this process and its stages.

  • Online Application: To begin the application process you will need to access the Smucker’s careers page and select your region (the US or Canada). Once you have done so you will be able to select a position that matches your skill sets and qualifications. After choosing a position you will be prompted to create an account and upload your resume.
  • Phone interview: If your resume happens to be a match for the role you have selected, you should be contacted to participate in a phone interview. Phone interviews usually last between 10 and 30 minutes and may include questions regarding your resume, availability, and salary expectations.
  • Pre-Hire Tests: You pre-hire assessments will be determined by the position you are pursuing within the company. Psychometric testing allows Smucker’s to further screen applicants in regard to the qualities they are looking for.
  • Onsite Interviews: Once you have completed and passed your pre-hire exam, you will be invited to engage in one or more personal interviews. Your interviews will either be held with one interviewer or multiple interviews. It is recommended that you brush up on one-one-one, group, and panel interviews.

The J.M. Smucker Company Ramsay Mechanical & Psychometric Tests

To ensure that they are hiring the right candidates for the vacancies in their company, Smucker’s often uses aptitude tests in their hiring process.

Maintenance and production positions with Smucker’s will require taking and passing the Ramsay Mechanical Aptitude Test. Instead of evaluating knowledge and skill level, the Ramsay test measures the likelihood of an ability to succeed in the company.
