The HUBCO recruitment process consists of numerous competitive stages, to test candidates’ aptitude for the desired position. These stages are:

  • Online Application: The pre-employment assessment begins with filling out an online form and attaching a resume and a cover letter for the Human Resources Department to view. Applicants applying for the HUBCO internships may be initially screened based on their GPA as well.
  • Telephone Interview: Applicants may then be invited for a screening phone interview with a Human Resources manager. The conversation may include questions regarding their education, work experience, and career expectations.
  • Tests: Applicants may need to perform pre-employment assessment exams such as the Predictive Index Learning Indicator and Bennett Mechanical Comprehension tests.
  • In-Person Interview: Candidates will be invited for an interview with potential managers and HR representatives for the last evaluation stage. The interview may include several one-on-one, as well as group sessions with one or more employers.

HUBCO Aptitude Tests

Certain psychometric entrance exams may be conducted during the hiring process to determine candidates’ eligibility for the position. Assessment tests such as the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT) test-takers’ knowledge and use of mechanical skills, spatial perception capacity, and mechanical reasoning aptitude. The Predictive Index Learning Indicator or Professional Learning Indicator (PLI) test evaluates applicants’ cognitive capabilities, such as the ability to analyze and adapt to new information, plan ahead, and solve problems. The test covers mathematical, verbal, and abstract reasoning aptitude.

The interview assessment stage is comprised of unique questions posed during the face-to-face interview and is mainly competency-based. Competency-based questions regard candidates’ past job experiences as evidence of their fit for the job position. Interviewers may also ask situational and technical questions.   • What accomplishment do you believe was the most difficult for you to achieve, in your most recent position?
