The complexity and the duration of the interviews depend very much on the job you are applying for. You will be asked to participate in two or more of the following interviews.

  • A phone interview, which will be the first step. Here you will go over the resume and answer basic questions. If all is successful you will be invited to in-person interviews.
  • A technical Interviews where you will be asked questions of a technical nature. Whilst these depend on the actual position you are applying for, the important thing to remember is that you are being assessed on the skills that you are going to need to demonstrate for the actual job. This being the case, ensure that your skills are up to scratch.
  • Face-to-face interviews. During the face-to-face interviews, you will be interviewed by multiple people. These will include the HR, the head of the department and your direct superior.

The Tests at Bobcat

There are several tests that you may have to pass, some will assess your general skills, while others will assess very specific skills that are required for the job you are applying for. These include:

  • The Caliper assessment is available online and in pen and paper formats. This is a multiple-choice exam with 180 questions. While most applicants spend between two to three 3 hours taking the Caliper personality test, there is no actual time limit. It is essential that you answer every question, as the Caliper test cannot be scored if there are any blank spaces on the answer sheet.
  • A numerical reasoning test, which generally refers to tests in which more than just basic arithmetic is involved. There are four major topics covered in these tests – word problems, number series, tables and graphs, and sufficiency questions.
  • A verbal reasoning test where you will be asked questions that require verbal critical reasoning skills. This test consists of passages followed by statements. You must evaluate each statement according to the given rules.
  • And finally, the cognitive ability tests which are designed to measure an individual’s cognitive function in a few areas, such as verbal reasoning, spatial awareness or mathematics. Used by organizations in the recruitment process to help predict a candidate’s future aptitude for the position.
